Conférence - Simon Dybbroe Møller

Photography has two origin stories, and both begin with a window. One starts with Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, who photographed the view from his studio in Le Gras, showing the world outside but not the window itself. The other begins with William Henry Fox Talbot, who photographed the window in his studio, revealing its structure but none of the view. In his practice, Simon Dybbroe Møller explores the tension between sculptural weight and materiality on one hand and photographic mediation on the other. Moving fluidly between film, photography, found objects, sculpture, writing, and teaching, he examines what sculpture can become in this image-driven world… Born in Aarhus in 1976, he is Professor at the Royal Danish Academy. Simon Dybbroe Møller opens the show “Nouvelle Interorite” at La Salle de bains on the 26th of November.

L'autre commence avec William Henry Fox Talbot, qui a photographié la fenêtre de son studio, en révélant sa structure mais pas la vue. Se déplaçant avec fluidité entre le film, la photographie, les objets trouvés, la sculpture, l'écriture et l'enseignement, il examine ce que la sculpture peut devenir dans ce monde dominé par l'image... Né à Aarhus en 1976, il est professeur à l’Académie Royale Danoise. Simon Dybbroe Møller ouvre l’exposition « Nouvelle Intériorité » à La Salle de bains le 26 novembre.
