Conférence - Francesc Ruiz

ALTERNATIVE HENTAI IS EVERYWHERE

The world is drawn, composed, published, and distributed in the work of Francesc Ruiz, whose practice critically engages with the spaces and structures of print capitalism. Expanded comics, the informational architectures of newsstands, manga pornotopias, printed urban landscapes, and contemporary logistics are some of the sites of intervention through which he has developed his work over the past twenty years.

In this conversation, Francesc Ruiz will guide us through some of his most recent projects, both individual and collective, including the Institute of Porn Studies, the Amateur Porn Comics Group, the Performance Comics Gym, and the Disturbing Distribution Workshops.

The conversation will be accompanied by Camille Richert and Félixe Kazi-Tani (graphic designer and artist).

Francesc Ruiz is currently presenting his latest project, BDPD, at La Salle de Bains, curated by Camille Richert.
